Actually animals have a sense of sustainable survival thinking. On a safari in namibia one guide told us that lions rarely attack e.g. pragnent animals (only if there are really hungry). Because they know it is going to save their future. They told us also that the animals sense the rain season early and start to reproduce a few month before because they now there will be enough food/grass to grow their calves and lions or hunter reproduce as soon as they sense or see pregnant preys. Whether it's an act of love or just selfishly using it as a bait, it's all just human assumptions, projected and imposed onto this situation. When the truth is no one can read and experience directly, the leopard's mind. Human beings like to force their own subjective interpretations onto anything and everything in the entire objective universe. Subjective truths then literally become their objective reality. Constantly lying to others, but also to themselves. And then justifying every single one of their own subjectivity and infinite rationalizations.
It's kind of like how human beings like to praise and idolize all sorts of idols and representations of divinity/enlightenment (after vilifying and persecuting every single one of these world teachers first)...rather than actually seeking out divinity themselves. Either someone else fully responsible for their own salvation, or someone else fully responsible for all the bad things within their own lives. Because deep down they are terrified of freewill and self-responsibility and absolute objective truths, and are much more comfortable with their own endless subjective truths/lies.
Awww, it’s so cute how the little bird is so innocent that it understands no such thing as enemies or threats and doesn’t realize the danger of approaching an animal such as that!
The leopard is so damn beautiful....healthy and fine looking......it would not have made a difference to his appetite if he ate that little duckling or not...he just wanted some entertainment.....but mad respect for a duckling to know how to get away too......no one taught the duckling that....but its instincts or some call, genetic memory....all animals deserve so much more appreciation, respect and love for what they really are....and what that is heavens above what humans know about them.
They are going to use it to make another video, do you really believe this crap? it's all fake to make millions in RUclips!! C'mon! Wake up people, this is blatant animal abuse!
Only an idiot would think that the bird was "underestimated". Oh, you think the leopard couldn't have caught it as it waddled away at the end at 4 miles an hour? The leopard just didn't care. He never saw it as food, just as a toy, and as cats often do he's already tired of the toy.

The leopard has most likely already eaten and played with the duckling a bit, big cats sometimes play with their food. The fact is that the leopard knew that the duckling was alive, it could kill it from the moment it put it in its mouth, but it was careful not to crush it. The duckling was literally like a little candy to him. If the leopard still did not eat anything, it was simply not worth wasting energy for such a small prey, animals always judge whether it is worth attacking. That's why he let the duckling go, it was a simple distraction.
Cats dont kill their prey instantly most of the time. They like to play with it first. One example is letting their prey, if its easy catchable again, run and catch it again or play football with it. It didnt intend to kill the bird now, but it definitly did sometime after the video was cut

Leopards are the most "catlike" of all big cats. They're excellent hunters most of the time but then there are moments like this where it looks like their brain took a sabbatical.
Actually many cats can adopt prey. For example there's a famous case of a lioness adopting a baby gemsbok. And house cats are known to adopt baby ducks and puppies at times. The suprising part is that it's a male.
One of my cats brings me a bird once in awhile and the last time it was a baby bird that was still alive and unhurt! He placed it gently on the floor and I picked it up and took it outside where I put it in some bushes where it was safe until it flew away. If that cat wanted to eat that poor duckling he would certainly have.

Clearly a very well fed cat. He was just toying with the bird since he wasn't hungry.
Or realized meat to bone ratio too little… net calorie loss, not worth the effort 😀
Its clear that the leopard was well fed and just playing around but also knows its better id the chicken survives for now

Ever saw the Movie " Birds" ?
The leopard treated the little Duckie as if it is its own baby. Holding in the mouth and not biting it. The clever little Duck baby knew exactly when to take off. Amazing footage from the animal world.
Actually felines love to torture their prey, play with it for hours. Sometimes they don't even eat it. They just torture and maim them until they die. I think you're misinterpreting what happened. Nature is much crueler.
I thought that...until the leopard shook it a bit. It only shook it gently, but usually, when done harder, it would be to kill or stun the animal. He was definitely playing with the duckling, not nursing it.
And thankfully the baby Duck knew when to scoot, if he had stayed any longer playing dead, he'd really end up dead.
They play with their food before eating if it is a smaller animal. Just like cats with mice.

yes he finally let her go
Whether it's an act of love or just selfishly using it as a bait, it's all just human assumptions, projected and imposed onto this situation.

Bird and Leopard be like : Let's mock humans...What they tell the world...and how WE ANIMALS actually behave 👍👍👍
Big cats are intelligent, strong yet very gentle. The Leopard knew even if it killed and ate it wouldn’t help anyhow. 😅
To the leopard, eating that little bird would be like eating us eating a grain of rice.

The Leopard was so gentle in holding the bird. I don't think it intended to eat it
It was hoping Mom would come to take its place, all the big cats do this.
Cats dont kill their prey instantly most of the time. They like to play with it first. One example is letting their prey, if its easy catchable again, run and catch it again or play football with it.
It didnt intend to kill the bird now, but it definitly did sometime after the video was cut
